Sri Dattatreya Temple Kurvapura
Kuruvapur is a pilgrimage pilgrimage to Lord Dattatreya. It is located on the banks of River Krishna, 25 km from Raichur district of Karnataka. It is an island surrounded by the sacred waters of the Krishna River. The first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya in Kaliyuga was Sri Sripada Srivallabha. Kuravpur is a kind of place to experience. Known as the ‘Karma-Bhoomi’ of Sri Sripada Srivallabha Swamy, the 1st incarnation of Sri Gurudev Datta, this place is situated on the river Krishna. This place is on the island and you can find limited resources on this island. To reach the island you need to take a putty or circular share boat which takes about 10-20 minutes to cross the river. Then you have to travel 1 km to reach the temple.
The place is located on the border of Karnataka and Telangana. In the middle of the river from both borders. A good stay is available from Telangana. People who are planning to land in Raichur, Karnataka will also drop in at the Krishna station and look for an auto rental. Most people at the temple suggested that it was a little closer to Raichur and most trains stop at Krishna station. From Krishna Station, Auto will take you down to the river Krishna on the Telangana side.
