The 500 year old tree in Devadurga town of Raichur district is home to a rare botanical form of baobab tree. Situated on the grounds of Government College, 58 km from Raichur town, this tree is about 500 years old, A large, barrel-shaped trunk tree known as the only Baobab Tree (Adonsonia digitata) of South India is found in Devadurga, Raichur. This tree is 45 feet wide and 40 feet high. According to Encyclopedia Britannica, this tree is one of the oldest trees on the planet and is most commonly found in South Africa.
